About FitSeniors — and the trainer behind it

FitSeniors exists because traditional fitness content isn't built for women over 60. Every program, every workout, every article is designed around the bodies, goals, and realities of the women we serve.

Hi, I'm Marischa

I'm a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT), and I hold NASM's Senior Fitness Specialist certification (SFS) — a credential focused specifically on safely training adults 55 and older.

I work with women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s every week. Some are returning to movement after decades away. Others are active and looking for smarter programming as their bodies change. What they share is a simple truth: generic fitness content rarely respects how their body actually feels today.

That's what FitSeniors is for — structured, low-impact, joint-friendly training with clear progressions and real modifications.

Why FitSeniors exists

The exercise guidance most women over 60 receive is either oversimplified (“just go for a walk”) or borrowed from programs built for people half their age. Both fail the same way: they don't account for joint sensitivities, balance changes, bone density concerns, recovery needs, or the genuine strength gains still very much possible at any age.

Research from the National Institute on Aging and the CDC is clear: older adults who combine aerobic, strength, and balance work see meaningful improvements in independence, mood, and long-term health. FitSeniors packages that research into programs you can actually follow at home.
